About

Hello.

My interest in the field of counselling and psychotherapy began long ago when I found myself seeking out therapy. I was at a point in my life where I was unable to make sense of the distress I was feeling and the mental health challenges I was navigating. In therapy, I discovered a place free of judgment where I felt seen, heard, and understood.

Discovering a space like this allowed me to begin to explore my past experiences and understand how they shaped my present. I began to understand how growing up in a family impacted by addiction and intergenerational trauma affected me. The journey towards healing involved a lot of learning, unlearning, and rediscovering of myself. I found the therapeutic relationship to be the most powerful element in my experience of growth and transformation. I have come to the awareness that while we can sustain the most emotional damage in relationships, we can also experience the most healing in relationships. I was deeply impacted by my experience in therapy, and this sparked an interest in entering the field professionally.

In my personal time I often find myself searching out new destinations to walk and hike, spending time with friends and family, and petting dogs and cats any chance I get.

My Qualifications

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Following this I trained at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto, in Gestalt therapy. I went on to obtain a Master’s in Counselling (MCouns) specializing in Interpersonal Dialogue at the University of Edinburgh, in the UK.

Additionally, I have received instruction and acquired personal experience in somatic therapy, death and dying/end of life care, addiction recovery, and mental health crisis support. I continue to engage in ongoing professional development.
